Kids creative crafts comes to Catford!

South Londoners will have a chance indulge in a spot of seasonal fun and indulge their creative sides with the Catford Kids Craft Fair. Set to be held on Sunday 10th December from 10am-4pm at 2-3 Winslade Way in Catford’s Brutalist shopping centre, the fair will feature a range of exciting arts and craft activities suitable for the whole family.

Catford native Aisling Roycroft, renowned for using everyday domestic and scrap materials to create stunning works of art will be holding a workshop offering the chance to create a special, and unique Catford postcard. Meanwhile anyone eager to make their very own seasonal lino printed cards can join Lewisham School of Art and Design teacher Sarah Gursoy Heuser’s festive card making workshop. For those who lean more towards the digital side of creativity, local tech guru David Morley will be on hand to show budding techies how to code their very own festive e-cards. Local artists Charlotte Gainey and Owain Nicholl who were responsible for the butterfly painting fluttering along the south circular will host a session aimed at helping young Catfordian celebrate their neighbourhood, with the pair also producing a, and what they would like to change. Nicholls has also produced a new winged masterpiece which will be unveiled on the day. Finally, mosaics artist Tamara Froud, best known as the creator of the much loved “Pride of Catford” mural that has recently adorned the side of Blythe Hill Tavern, will help guests create their very own baubles and snow globes.
