What you've been saying this month

Strong themes are emerging and all of the 1,550 comments shared on Commonplace will be given to the architects who will draw up a masterplan for Catford Town Centre. Read on for some of your ideas and views from the last few weeks.

Nearly everyone agrees that the range of shops could be improved, but what do you want to see and where? Here’s some of the comments shared – add your thoughts here .

"It is important to keep a mix of shops that serves everyone in the community and reaches those of all incomes.""...Catford Broadway could be protected as an area for independent, creative shops and cafes and restaurants, Rushey Green could be developed on as an area for high street convenience."

Traffic congestion and its impact for pedestrians and cyclists is a recurrent theme and it is hoped this will be improved through the rerouting of the South Circular road, which will bring opportunities for safe crossings and dedicated cycle routes.

"It would be great to manage the traffic flow here [junction between A21 and A205 and near the stations, which both get tailbacks. Air pollution is bad, cycling is dangerous and crossing the roads is difficult. I worry for elderly and children here."

Summer is here and Catford is buzzing. With a packed roadshow of dedicated engagement events and Team Catford stalls at local foodie festivals and summer fayres, make sure to stop by for a chat.
